Wire Sculpts

First off... HAPPY HOLIDAY'S to everyone!!

Wow... it's been a while since I've updated my blog. Well here's a pic of my latest wire sculpture created in a class I took here taught by Andreas Deja. He's amazing and has so much experience working with wire sculpts. It was amazing to take his class!

Wow! That one on the right is particularly impressive, I like the pose and the handling of the extremities, it reminds me of a quick gesture drawing.

Looks great! I never knew what wire sculptures really were, until I saw some of Deja's on Victor Ens' blog. And Bobby's right, the right one is really impressive. It's a great pose, and it's also got more volume than the other one.

Hope to see more, and happy holidays!

Hey thanks you bobby and benjamin! I agree I like the right one better. The one on the left was my first try and I was just trying to make sure I didn't screw it up ;) The one on the right was my second try when I kinda started to get the hang of it so I tried to push the pose. I wish I could show you the examples Andreas had in class. Apperiently he picked up this hobby from one of the 9 old men, I believe it was Milt... but not totally sure....

Happy Holiday's!

Simpsons drawing class and now a sculpting class taught by Andreas Deja... it doesn't get any better than that. These look awesome! How long did it take you to do the one on the right?

Hi Ruel,
The simpson's caricatures were actually something i created on my own... not really a class. We had a general "caricature" class (not in the simpson's style) a few months back where we caricatures of each other in class. I'll post one of the paper cutout one I made of Clay Kaytis.

I'd say both of them took me about 4-6 hours each.

Hey Rebecca,

Many thanks for dropping by my blog!

AM is just the best thing since the white sliced stuff!

Congrats on the job at Disney you extremely talented jammy sod!

I've been stalking your blog ever since I decided to join AM back in March 2006 and hand-on-hart you ,Victor Navone (and my wife) inspired me to go for it!

It's good to hear you're visiting London in January! I don't live anywhere near London! (about 300miles outside in good old Yorkshire. I live in Bronte country home of the Bronte Sisters! In fact you should vist Yorkshire, London's rubbish!!!)

Just a few pointers about London then! It's not all foggy like in the movies and it's usualy very busy. It's got a great tube system...get yourself a day/week/month pass it's cheaper. There's lots of great shows, and some pretty lame ones to boot!
Plenty of museums that are FREE!!!

London is pricey, so take lots of cash!

Yorkshire is cheap...really, really cheap!

Best wishes
Oly Scott

If you need any more hints or tips on other major cities (that I rarely visit) around the globe, just give me a call!

P.S. Yorkshire's beautiful!

These are awesome Rebecca!!!

I especially like the feeling and the motion on wire frame sculpture towards the right hand side of the picture. You can really feel the movement with that back leg extended out, nice! Great job on capturing the flow and rhythm !~
