Thanks to a co-worker... Here's a really cool 3D animation test that Disney originally made in 1983. Pretty cool stuff.... it was even directed by our very own John Lasseter.

Thanks for the link. I never knew Disney did early tests with compositing 2d animation in a 3d environment. That was so cool! great blog by the way! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Hi Rob,
I had no clue either. I've heard Lasseter talk about something CG he was working on here at disney back in the day... but it wasn't clear what. It's pretty cool to see this old stuff!
